Looking for a Therapist?
You’re probably here because you’re looking for information or a therapist. That’s good – because I’m here to help.

My approach is one of open collaboration with my clients. I believe in the power of all people to find healing, peace and contentment in themselves and I believe that is most achievable when people get to know and appreciate themselves as genuine. I can’t tell you who your genuine self is, but I can guide you along the path to finding your way back.
I specialize in
- Recovery from trauma
- Grief
- Depression
- Social Anxiety
- General Anxiety
- Spiritual Issues
- Gender Identity Counseling
- Counseling for the LGBT Community
- Youth and LGBT Youth
- Women’s Issues
Have you ever felt like you just “can’t find” yourself?
Many times, access to our genuine self is obscured by social norms (as in, how we are “supposed” to act), trauma, or emotions that seem overwhelming or intolerable. I can help you “dust off” the layers of negative, draining expectations and the trauma and suffering that results from living in a culture that is not very accepting of anything outside of the “norm”.
Techniques I Use
I use a down-to-earth and practical approach that is based on creating an excellent therapeutic relationship with you, the client. Your safety and well-being comes first for me. We work together to find solutions that work for you. For some people, it might mean making steps in a plan, for others, it means examining habitual thoughts or patterns. Still other clients find that they need to discuss childhood experiences to get the change they need. I’m not stuck on one approach but have training in quite a few to help find the one that works best for each client.
I use two amazing techniques in additional to traditional talk therapy. One is called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and another called Brainspotting. I’ve completed training in both of these techniques. Although different, they each work to speed up the healing process of stuck emotions, trauma, habitual patterns, fears, phobias or harmful beliefs. Just a few (sometimes even just one) session with one of these techniques can bring relief and healing for may people. These are tested, effective approaches. Why do I use the image of the peacock? Because it symbolizes the ability to turn poison into beauty. Find out more here.
