I believe that psychotherapy is for everyone. It can be used to assist you in a wide range of situations including
Psychotherapy and counseling are different from speaking with a friend or family member because a psychotherapist is trained in assisting others from a neutral, non-judgmental and compassionate place.
LGBTQ Youth & Young Adults: LGBTQ identified teens & young adults can benefit greatly from a therapist who is trained and experienced working with their specific needs. I have assisted LGBTQ youth in crisis for several years and with youth overall for more than 10 years. See my webpage for information and articles specifically for LGBTQ youth!
Grief and Loss: I specialize in helping clients move through grief - especially sibling and spouse or partner loss.
Losing a spouse -- the loss of a partner or spouse is one of the most difficult life events a person can go through. Support and guidance of a psychotherapist can be invaluable as you walk your own, individual path in and through grief.
Losing a sibling -- whether as a child or adult, is one of the least addressed kinds of grief. Let me help you get started in your journey through grief to a sense of meaning and peace.
Suicide Survivors: Those who have survived the suicide of a parent, sibling, child, friend or other loved ones carry a unique burden of grief & loss that sometimes combines with painful shame, shock, trauma or confusion. As a suicide survivor myself, I can guide you through this journey with both knowledge and deep compassion.
